Apartment living with a baby

My husband and I are looking to move out of our neighborhood and into a 2 bd/2bth apartment in a neighboring city. We're wanting to have kids sometime soon but we are worried that we won't have enough space in an apartment. We currently rent a 2/1 house in an area that was once pretty quiet, but recent incidents (punk kids tagging and keying cars, fights, loud music, etc) are forcing us to move. I work in a town just over 30 min away...we've wanted to move there for a while so we figured we'd just rent for a while and get established until either we find the right house or I'm out of grad school.

Our second bedroom is currently being used as an office. We know we want to have the baby sleep in our bedroom regardless of living conditions, but as the baby grows older, we'll have some decisions to make. Any advice?

Were doing it, and it works! Our bedroom is the "nusery", we all sleep together. Bedroom has changing table, etc, and living room has swing, yoga ball, etc, You can make it work. People do, every day.

We made it work by converting a corner of our kitchen into an office. But that would mean you need to have a more spacious kitchen. But, I've also had all three of my kids in my room until 6 months or more.

We have a 1 1/2 year old and it works for us as well. We have a 2 bedroom apartment, he still sleeps with us so the 2nd bedroom is used for whatever we want, which right now is a meditation room. Later I suppose it will be his room. Our dining room has become an office area. We now eat Japanese style on a table on the floor in the living room with big pillows and a tatami mat underneath. Move somewhere with parks nearby, that way your child has plenty of room to play outside. We live in an apartment complex with courtyards, provides extra security, and a nice place to play outside. In addition, we have several parks nearby. Think on the bright side, a small place means less baby proofing among other amenities :).

This is true. The place we're looking at is extremely family-friendly, with a "tot lot" in the park-area of the complex. It's also walking distance from Trader Joe's, our banks, and the mall.

We need to have a locked room for my client files, as well as my husband's computer equipment, but if the baby will stay with us in our room than I suppose he/she wouldn't need their own room for a while.

My husband Jared , baby son Jakob ,Cat Nano and I are living in an apartment 1 bdr 1 bath. We live here because of the beautiful location, Kensington area / sunnyside in Calgary Alberta It works bt it crowded and Im worried he wont have enough crawling pace to roam when its cold, hopfully we will have a warm summer temp fall, he is currently 6 months old and i think we will be sleeping together for a while and we are looking for another place, in the same area if possible, it works, we have a friend down a bock in a 1bdr with a 2 yearold, she just pt the crib at the end of he bed so her kid can crawl into bed wih her and he husband whenever she wants.

we're still in a 2b/1b third-floor walk-up in the cedar park neighborhood of west philadelphia ... while it's getting tight w/ our three-year old, we're mostly happy and kinda organized, but we're definitely looking at our buying options.
